City Manager disbands homeless committee
City Manager Nikki Messenger is disbanding the City Manager Homeless Immediate Needs Ad Hoc Committee, effective Friday, July 23.
Street maintenance starts next week
Maintenance to extend the life of more than 2.5 miles of Roseburg streets is set to begin next week, weather permitting. The Roseburg Public Works Department asks vehicle owners to be sure to remove their vehicles from street sections scheduled and posted for maintenance to allow crews to complete the work.
Bore crossing project begins Monday
The Washington Avenue bore crossing project is expected to begin along the South Umpqua River in Roseburg on Monday, July 26. The project will require the closure of the parking lot at Riverside Park until about Nov. 15. However, the park itself will remain open.

Renovated Beulah Park to get grand opening
Roseburg residents are invited to celebrate the unveiling of renovated Beulah Park at a grand opening Thursday, July 22. Mayor Larry Rich, Public Works Department staff and city councilors such as Parks and Rec Commission Chair Alison Eggers will be among those attending a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9 a.m. Thursday at the park, 1284 NE Beulah Ave. between Lincoln and Nash streets
City crew repairs water main break Monday
A City water crew repaired a water main that broke in a residential area early Monday morning and left about 30 water customers with low to no water pressure for several hours. A small section of Cherry Drive from Jefferson Street to Holly Avenue was closed until about 11:30 a.m. as crews worked to repair a water main that broke in front of 1152 N.W. Cherry Drive.
Library seeks programming input, book group members

City Council meets in person Monday
The Roseburg City Council will hold its first in-person meeting in more than a year on Monday, July 12, after the City ended most COVID-19 restrictions based on updated state guidelines. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at Roseburg City Hall, 900 S.E. Douglas Ave.
