RoseburgAdmin

ROSEBURG, Ore. – Children’s programs wrap up for the spring next week so Roseburg Public Library staff can focus on final preparations for the Summer Reading Program.

Library staff also want to give patrons a heads-up that the library will be closed Wednesday, April 23, and kids under 13 who have been “reading for burgers” must turn in their reading logs by 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12.

Youth Services Librarian Aurora Ropp will present Lap-Sit Storytime at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, April 15. The program is designed for babies from 6 to 18 months of age and their caregivers.

Aurora’s final preschool-aged Storytime until June will be at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, and Thursday, April 17. Storytime for kids 2 to 5 years old and caregivers resumes Wednesday, June 4, at 10:30 a.m. at the Stewart Park Pavilion.

The last STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) program of the spring for elementary-aged youth will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 17.

The Summer Reading Program begins Sunday, June 1, and continues through Saturday, Aug. 23. Aurora has scheduled a full slate of special performances, Storytime and hands-on activities for the Stewart Park Pavilion, and the library will give away new popular books to readers.

A reminder to adult readers: Please vote for the summer reading incentive program you prefer by visiting the library’s website, roseburgpubliclibrary.org, and taking the “2025 SRP for Adults Survey.” Or email your feedback to kwiley@roseburgor.gov or stop into the library for a copy of the survey. Responses are required by Saturday, April 12.

In-N-Out Burger Reading Program Ends April 12

Kids aged 4 through 12 who are in the In-N-Out Burger reading program must redeem reading logs for In-N-Out gift cards by 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12. Download reading logs from the library’s website or stop by the library’s front desk.

Library Closed Wednesday, April 23

The library will be closed Wednesday, April 23, so the staff can attend training at the Oregon Library Association Conference in Eugene. Book return bins in the parking lot and library’s lobby will be locked that day. Please hang onto items until the library reopens Thursday, April 24. The library does not assess late fees.
